Senior Conference Producer

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior Conference Producer leads the development of designated conference series by researching market priorities, creating strong agendas, confirming speakers and building relationships with key companies and associations.

The role also helps drive the revenue and profitability of the series. Strong organisation, time management and confidence when working with senior-level representatives are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce up to ten high-quality, independently researched conferences each year, supported by complete agendas that accurately reflect the industry and its current market priorities.
  • Understand industries and their value chains quickly, and identify the right audience for each event.
  • Meet production and marketing deadlines while communicating essential information across the team.
  • Develop new industry relationships, event ideas, formats and partnerships with associations and businesses.
  • Manage the complete conference process and contribute practical improvements to how events are produced.
  • Mentor new team members as the series grows, understand budgets and help control costs.
  • Provide excellent service to speakers, sponsors and delegates, building relationships that encourage continued business.

Requirements

  • Two to five years’ experience in B2B events, preferably within finance or telecommunications.
  • University graduate with strong written, verbal and research skills.
  • Fresh ideas, commercial awareness and an imaginative approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-led environment.
  • Strong IT skills; additional languages are useful.

Senior Sponsorship Sales Manager

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Sales Manager sells sponsorship across a portfolio of research-led B2B conferences and may manage a small sales team. Our international events provide business information and commercial opportunities for senior executives across the telecommunications sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor the team’s performance, motivate colleagues and lead by example.
  • Close sales, meet personal targets and help build a high-energy, results-driven environment.
  • Report weekly performance figures to the Sales Director and management team.
  • Develop the sponsorship revenue strategy, products and commercial packages.
  • Gather feedback from customers and prospects and share insight with the research and marketing teams.
  • Build a strong understanding of each portfolio’s target audience and generate new sales leads.
  • Work with operations to ensure clear client communication and smooth on-site delivery.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with senior representatives from target markets.

Requirements

  • Clear, demonstrable understanding of the sales process.
  • At least five years’ sales experience, preferably in conference sponsorship.
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to find effective commercial solutions.
  • Ability to build and manage a team sales pipeline and provide quantitative reporting.
  • Excellent organisation, resilience under pressure and a consistently high pace of work.
  • Ambitious, articulate and well presented, with strong people skills.
  • Experience with sales databases such as Salesforce; management experience and additional languages are advantageous.
Volunteer internship

Conference Research Intern

We welcome undergraduates and recent graduates who are interested in the telecommunications industry and want to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, challenging environment. Interns may support one or more events or a specific research area.

What you may work on

  • Conference research, including statistical and online research, identifying media partners, finding speaker contact details and preparing briefing notes.
  • Supporting conference agenda development from initial concept to final draft.
  • Enriching our database and network by identifying relevant people to invite to our events.
  • Supporting a range of event activities, from shaping the conference structure to on-site coordination.
  • Undertaking other duties needed to help make each conference a success.
